Guardiola Secures 40th Title, Second in History, Just 9 Behind Ferguson – At 55, He’s Still Writing His Legacy

Since taking charge of Manchester City in July 2016, Guardiola has led the club to 14 trophies across all competitions – the most of any manager in the Premier League during that period. His 40 titles include 3 Champions Leagues, 6 Premier Leagues, 3 La Ligas, and 3 Bundesligas. By comparison, Carlo Ancelotti has 30 trophies, while José Mourinho has 26.

Born in January 1971, Guardiola is now 55 years old and still very much in his prime as a coach. Since taking his first senior role at Barcelona in 2008, he has accumulated 40 trophies in just 18 years – a remarkable rate of success. If he maintains this pace, he has every chance of surpassing Ferguson’s record of 49 titles in the coming years.

During his near-decade in charge of Manchester City, Guardiola has taken the club to unprecedented heights. Regardless of when he eventually departs, he will already be regarded as the most successful manager in City’s history. His next chapter may well lie in international football – according to previous statements, he could take a short break before taking the reins of a national team and beginning a new phase in his career.
