How to Buy 2026 World Cup Tickets: Prices and Lottery Pre-Sale Guide

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaches, the most pressing concern for fans around the world is how to purchase match tickets. FIFA launched the first round of ticket lottery pre-sales in September 2025, providing fans with official channels for ticket purchase.

Purchase Process: This edition of the World Cup adopts a lottery-based pre-sale system for ticket sales. Fans must first register a FIFA ticketing account on the official FIFA website and ensure they have a VISA card (FIFA’s official payment partner) to be eligible to participate in the lottery. The initial registration window opened from September 10 to 19, 2025. Successful applicants will receive email notifications, and ticketing windows will begin opening after October 1. Additional rounds of lottery sales will follow, and closer to the tournament, “first-come, first-served” sales may also be available for any remaining tickets.

Ticket Prices: Ticket prices follow a dynamic pricing model based on match round and seat location. The lowest-priced group stage tickets start at approximately $60, but prices for high-demand matches (such as games involving the United States) will be significantly higher. As the tournament progresses, ticket prices increase accordingly. Final match tickets command premium prices, with the highest-tier tickets reaching up to $6,730, while the lowest-tier tickets for the final start at $2,030.

Ticket Types: Fans can purchase single-match tickets, venue-specific ticket packages, or team-specific ticket packages that follow their favorite team throughout the tournament. Given the high ticket prices, especially for the average fan, it is recommended to closely follow subsequent ticketing information released by FIFA and plan budgets and travel arrangements in advance. Meanwhile, some community organizations and political figures have called on FIFA to set aside discounted tickets for local residents; however, official ticketing channels currently remain primarily focused on commercial pricing.
